Here's my first attempt at the Pokémon style. Gave myself the opaque glasses so I'll still have to learn anime eyes for the next one. This image was sort of a proof-of-concept before I start making portraits for the pokémaniacs who helped me get my 130-odd pokémon from Leaf Green all the way up to Pokémon Moon.
Some info about my party:
Venusaur (Nickname: The Sultan): If we were going by favourites, I'd have Ivysaur in my party, but the Sultan is my favourite pokémon that was ever an Ivysaur.
Dewott (Nickname: Emmett): Besides Leaf Green and Moon, Black is the only other Pokémon game I've played. I picked Oshawott as my starter, and then found out that his final form is in my opinion one of the worst starter pokémon designs out there. So I just never let him evolve that far, though he tried many times.
Decidueye (Nickname: Owltober): For my third starter pokémon I went back to grass-type. Maybe I've got too many grass-types on this team?
Tangrowth (Nickname: Frykid): On Leaf Green I had a whole party of McDonalds Land characters; Ronald the Mr. Mime, Grimace the Graveler, Birdie the Zapdos, Nugget Buddies the Dugtrio, and McFlurry the Lapras. Frykid was always my favourite though. After bringing him forward to Moon, he evolved into a Tangrowth.
Tangela (Nickname: Small Fry): Tangela is definitely my favourite pokémon. He's just such a cute little google-eyed scribble. I made sure to catch an extra one in Leaf Green so that I would still have one after evolving Frykid in Moon.
Nidoking (Nickname: King Dino): My first and only shiny pokémon. I caught this guy in the Safari Zone in Leaf Green and didn't even realize it. I was sorting through my catches at the PC later and was like "Wait- this isn't the colour you're supposed to be!" If I had known he was shiny when I first encountered him I probably would have dropped dead from stress since the Safari Zone capture system is pure evil.
